This Financial Services Guide (FSG), dated 31 May 2013 is issued by Stocks In Value Pty Limited (ACN 162 644 724) (StocksInValue, we, us, our) as a Corporate Authorised Representative (No. 436268) of Clime Asset Management Pty Limited (Licensee) an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) holder (No.221146).

The distribution of this FSG has been authorised by the Licensee.

This FSG is designed to provide you with important information prior to purchasing our financial services. If you need any more information than is contained in this document please contact us. You have the right to ask us about our charges, the type of advice we will provide you, and what you can do if you have a complaint about our services.

When acquiring financial services or financial products as a retail client from an organisation which holds an AFSL you should be provided with a disclosure document such as a prospectus or Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and receive a Statement of Advice (SOA) which is provided whenever you receive any personal advice, which takes into account your objectives, financial situation and needs. As the nature of the financial services provided by StocksInValue is general advice only, we will not provide these documents to you and we encourage you to obtain this information before making an investment decision.

Who will be providing the financial service to me?

StocksInValue will be providing the financial services to you through its website, staff and sub-authorised representatives (if any).

StocksInValue is responsible to you for the actions of its staff and representatives. The Licensee is ultimately responsible for advice provided to you including any advice provided by StocksInValue in accordance with its obligations under Section 912A of the Corporations Act.

Neither StocksInValue nor the Licensee are responsible to you for services provided to you by any third party, including other financial service providers. You should refer to the FSG of your other financial services provider for further information about the services they offer.

What kinds of financial services are you authorised to provide me and what kinds of products do those services relate to?

The Licensee is licensed to provide financial product advice (both general and personal) to retail and wholesale clients, and deal in the following financial services and financial products:

  • Deposit and payment products – basic and non-basic
  • Derivatives
  • Government debentures, stock and bonds whether issued or proposed to be issued
  • Managed investment schemes – excluding IDPS
  • Securities
  • Custodial or depository services – other than IDPS

to retail and wholesale clients.

StocksInValue has been authorised by the Licensee to provide the same financial services and products as the Licensee is able to provide.

StocksInValue currently provides general financial advice only. We provide customers with online access to a stock valuation and research service through our website. The website provides information on companies listed on the stock market. The content of the website may include general financial product advice. The website is not considered a financial product as defined under the law. It is a financial service as it may provide general financial advice.

We also provide written content and commentary that may include the provision of general financial product advice.

Please note that all advice provided is general advice only. This is an important consideration and means that the advice has not been prepared by taking into account the particular investment objectives, financial situation and particular needs of any individual investors. You should assess whether it is appropriate in light of your own individual investment objectives, financial situation and particular needs. We recommend that you consult with a licensed investment adviser or dealer in securities such as a stockbroker before making an investment decision.

How will I be charged for the service?

Access to the stock valuation and research service through our website is on a subscription basis. At the date of this FSG the annual membership fee is $695.00 (including GST) per year for the base level of membership and $1,195 (including GST) per year for the top level of membership (Professional). We reserve the right to vary these charges from time to time. To become a member you must agree to the terms of use that accompany a membership application.

Do you receive remuneration, commission, fees or other benefits in relation to providing the financial services to me?

We do not receive remuneration, commissions, fees or other benefits in relation to providing the financial services other than those described in the paragraph above.

We may receive a referral fee from the Licensee if, on our referral, you invest in a financial product offered by the Licensee or one of its related bodies corporate (Clime Group Product). The referral fee we receive is 25% of the first year’s revenue generated by any fees that you pay in respect of the Clime Group Product. As at the date of this FSG Clime Group Products include:

  • Clime’s Discrete Portfolio Service
  • Clime Australian Value Fund
  • Clime International Fund
  • Clime Super (SMSF Administration Service)

The Licensee is a shareholder of StocksInValue and may receive distributions from StocksInValue from time to time.

The employees and directors of StocksInValue and the Licensee are remunerated by way of salaries, bonuses, and other benefits. The amount of bonuses and other benefits depend on various factors including the performance of the employee during the year, and in some cases meeting certain sales, compliance and other targets, as well as the overall financial performance of StocksInValue.

Will you provide me advice, suitable to my needs and financial circumstances?

No, StocksInValue only provides general advice, and has no knowledge of your personal circumstances, investment objectives or needs.

What information do you maintain in my file and can I examine my file?

The privacy of your personal information is important to us. We must ensure privacy and security of your personal information in accordance with Our Privacy Policy. You can obtain a copy of the policy on request or it is available on our website (

We keep name, phone, and e-mail details for the purpose of fulfilling requested products and services. If you register online to receive our products you may indicate whether they wish to receive additional information and marketing on other products of the Licensee. At any time you may change, remove or alter the records held by StocksInValue or elect not to receive any materials from us, the Licensee or affiliated companies. Personal details held may include name, contact details (address, phone/fax, email) and payment information (credit card and/or bank details). We can assist with any questions concerning your records.

Do you have professional indemnity insurance?

The Licensee has in place professional indemnity insurance cover in accordance with its obligations under section 912B of the Corporations Act.

Who can I complain to if I have a complaint about the provision of the financial services to me?

If you have any complaint about the service provided to you, you should take the following steps:

  • Contact us and tell us about your complaint. We will seek to resolve your complaint quickly and fairly. If your complaint is not resolved within a reasonable time by one of our staff, please contact the Complaints Officer of the Licensee, directly.
  • If the complaint cannot be satisfied to your satisfaction within 45 business days of receipt, you have the right to complain to the Credit Ombudsman Service Limited (COSL). COSL is the dispute resolution scheme authorised to deal with complaints in relation to investment advice. They can be contacted on 1800 138 422 or at
